Inter-Amicos Refugee Sponsorship
Any group of five or more Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are 18 years of age or older and who live in the community where a refugee is expected to settle may sponsor a refugee. Group members act as guarantors that the necessary support will be provided for the full duration of the sponsorship, generally 12 months. The group is expected to show that they have the necessary financial resources, expertise, and commitment required to fulfill the terms of the sponsorship undertaking.

Applications to sponsor a refugee are reviewed by the Inter-Amicos Committee. Approved sponsorships through this program facilitate getting Canadian Landed Immigrant status for the sponsored individuals.
