Partner Agencies
OCISO partners with other service agencies to provide integrated services to newcomers:
- Housing Help is a one-stop housing information and assistance agency. From simple tenancy questions to the crisis of homelessness, Housing Help works to solve a wide range of tenant and landlord issues.
- LASI-World Skills is a recognized leader in responding to the needs of the local labour market while promoting the skills and talents of New Canadians. See our Help Finding Work page.
- Legal Aid Ontario is available to low income individuals and disadvantaged communities for a variety of legal problems, including criminal matters, family disputes, immigration and refugee hearings and poverty law issues such as landlord/tenant disputes, disability support and family benefits payments.
- The Canadian Mental Health Association offers a variety of services and programs that are accessible to both the public and other support organizations. The Canadian Mental Health Association constantly works with a variety of organizations including OCISO to provide services.
- CompuCorps Mentoring/Reboot Ottawa works together with OCISO to make low cost computer systems available to those who otherwise could not afford them. CompuCorps Mentoring/Reboot Ottawa accepts donations of computer equipment from private and industry donors. Equipment is refurbished, loaded with Windows 2000 and Office 2000 Pro through a special agreement with Microsoft, and redistributed for a low, cost-recovery fee.
OCISO partners with other organizations on special projects:
- Passages to Canada is the Dominion Institute's national storytelling programme, which explores the complexities of immigrant and refugee experiences.
